Help Hold Space for Peace with the Oakland Peace Center

We invite you to join us in building space for community and healing. Oakland Peace Center (OPC) provides affordable space for collaboration, innovation, changemaking and wellbeing. We create a network of BIPOC-led emotional, spiritual and organizational support for educators, advocates, activists, musicians, youth and families. Your support helps to sustain and grow a collective vision and system to bring about a city of hope, justice, nonviolence and compassion.

As stewards of this land and historic building, we create space for individual and collective peace. In addition to providing nonprofits and community groups space well below market rates our capacity-building programs include:

• The Beloved Book Club creates space for folks to learn more about (racial, economic, and environmental) justice and community organizing to empower and connect people.
• Lift Every Voice Leadership Development is a series of speakers and workshops that allows folks of all ages and backgrounds to connect with accomplished leaders, learn practical tips from each other’s experiences, and develop confidence as leaders.
• Our Community Resilience Garden is an opportunity for healing communal connection with nature, exploration of ancestral practices using food as medicine, and a space for conversation and action on climate justice.
• Youth Sustaining Peace is a workshop series that educates young people about environmental sustainability and advocacy to uplift youth as leaders in creating more sustainable communities.

Your contributions also enable us to maintain affordable space for the peace and justice work carried out by our in-house partners and community groups at the Oakland Peace Center. Together, we advocate for and facilitate access to essential resources, opportunities for growth, justice, and inner peace throughout in Oakland and beyond.
